The Archaeological Museum of Mytilene is housed in two buildings, close one to the other. The exhibits of the old museum referred mainly to the long history of Lesvos. Dating from prehistoric times to antiquity, figurines, jewelry and ceramic objects adorn the interior of the museum, whereas the new museum’s exhibition includes mosaic floors, frescoes of Hellenistic and Roman buildings, sculptures and a variety of clay objects.
