Amali is the massif closest to the capital of the island. It is a mountain range that runs along its namesake peninsula. The pine-covered mountains of the peninsula with the particular flora of the soil make it an ideal place for trekking and mountain sports, and it is the main lung of the city. The Trail starts from Saint Marina, a village on the eastern foothill, and ascends through the pines. It passes from areas with panoramic views, until, inside the dense forest it arrives at the small plateau of Panagia Amalis with the historic chapel.
