The travel agency Communication & Travel was founded in March 1996. It is located in the harbor of Molivos, in a renovated building, which used to be – time ago – an old olive oil factory. Our services connected to tourism on Lesvos island include: Charter Tourism & Incoming Tourism: – Building up programs for Tour operators all over the world, especially from Europe – Assisting our Tour operators to grow – Handling & Organization of all necessary activities (transfers, excursions, office facilities, assistance in contracting) in order to guarantee a smooth cooperation – Scouting for new prosperous accommodations for our clients Outgoing Tourism: – Building up travel programs for special groups or individuals all over the world – Organizing our own charter programs – Oooperating with other tour operators selling outgoing tourism from Greece all over the world

The story of “Taverna Vafios” started with endless love for traditional family recipes. So, the thought of our grandmother’s delicious dishes -all authentic recipes of old times- being lost in time, gave us the idea to create not just a typical traditional taverna but a culinary destination. So in 1987, Vafios, a small village in Lesvos began to slowly appear on the gastronomic map until it became famous for its authentic traditional delicacies and the “Oh, so well cooked!” local recipes! In our family farm, surrounded by all that is fresh and green, one can taste true tradition. Picture this. With the idea of serving locals and visitors fresh juices, some even tropical and scrumptious homemade ice cream, the Tropicana was born in 1985, at the square of Andrea Kyriakou, in between backyards, right next to an old stone fountain and under the shade of two old magnificent plane trees. So tables were laid under the tree, flowers were planted around it, the first few guests became regulars and it all went on from there. As time passed by, good friends required good meze. Small, homemade local dishes. And this is when Yiannis and Taxia came into the picture. Yiannis started cooking his mother’s recipes and Taxia did more talking and laughing with the customers than serving! But that is the reason why they became famous. Not only for their homemade cooking and local cuisine, but also for their authentic hospitality.
